In the recent times, everyone knows what a credit card terminal is, but we are not aware of the name by which it is known. People call the credit card terminals as swipe machines. A printer is connected to the card terminal for printing out the transaction details. A printed copy is given to the customer and the other copy should be signed by the customer and returned to the bank for a bank record. Likewise, a memory card is required to store the transaction details. These memory cards or chips are used for only storing the transaction details. It works as a main back up file of every transaction. Finally, the chip containing data are kept as for the future reference. It is an important component that makes a credit card terminal effective and useful. It is important because there is very less chance of the recorded data of the transactions being distorted. Some credit card terminals come with pre-fitted printers and memory cards but in most cases it has to be fitted externally. A printed record or the details is generated after the transaction can be lost. The banks and the merchants agree mutually, among themselves, for the services. For every transaction processed, the hosting bank gets a paid commission. Therefore these factors make the use of a card terminal most effective. These are the major elements that compliment the credit card terminal.
